Dean of Research / Office of Technology Licensing: The Office of Technology Licensing (OTL) was established in 1970 to manage the intellectual property assets of Stanford University. OTL evaluates, markets, and licenses technology owned by the University. OTL's mission is to encourage effective technology transfer for the public benefit as well as generating royalty income for Stanford to benefit research and education. OTL is one of the country's most active offices in the field of technology transfer from the university to industry. Our staff, most of whom are professionals engaged directly in licensing, manages over 3,000 active dockets.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Office of Technology Licensing is seeking for Manager of Talent and Operations Initiatives. This position will play a pivotal role in overseeing human capital management and driving key projects within the Office of Technology Licensing. This role will focus on enhancing the employee experience by managing talent acquisition, performance development, and employee relations while also ensuring that operational initiatives align with the office's strategic goals. The successful candidate will develop and implement workflows and processes that optimize staff engagement, collaboration, and productivity.
In addition to talent-related responsibilities, the Manager will oversee special projects that support the broader mission of the operations team and the office. This includes coordinating cross-functional initiatives, managing project timelines, analyzing data to drive decision-making, and improving operational efficiency. This unique role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable balancing HR-related duties with complex project management, ensuring the success of both staff and strategic initiatives.
This role manages the full talent lifecycle-recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations-to foster an effective and engaged workforce. Additionally, it leads special projects aimed at operational efficiency and cross-functional collaboration by coordinating with stakeholders, analyzing data for informed decisions, and driving improvements aligned with OTL's strategic goals.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

WORK STANDARDS:
The expected pay range for this position is $99,015 to $120,000 per annum.
