Receiving Clerk - 1st Shift at Lakeside Book Company in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Description:

Pay Rate: $20.50/hr

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm

Location: 2700 N. Richardt Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46219

As our Receiving Clerk, you will:

• Maintain necessary files and documentation. May perform activities related to load planning of outbound trucks to meet customer delivery requirements and cost parameters.
• Utilize small hand tools and operate material handling equipment including forklifts, skids, pallet handlers, hand trucks, etc. to stage materials and load trucks.
• Typical receiving activities require taking receipt of raw materials, components, or equipment and unloading trucks primarily using a forklift truck and pallet jacks. Check incoming materials against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., verifying nomenclature, identification, and quantity of the materials. Maintaining records of goods received and damaged goods.
• May be tasked with performing ancillary duties related to Production Expediting coordinating the movement of materials throughout the plant.
• Understand and adapt to shipping process changes, new customer requirements, and system changes
• Will be a liaison to the shift coordinator in end-of-shift reporting and preparing for the next day's operations
• Be motivated to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to lift and carry 20 to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for the entire duration of your shift
• Experience - Previous machine experience preferred
• Attention to detail, good communication skills, and comfortable with computer applications
• Ability to work in teams or alone, ability to motivate other team members
• Possess good organizational skills, and detail-oriented
