Overview

Prepare quantity take-off and cost estimates for projects for the Construction Management team. Perform project management of awarded contracts including material ordering, scheduling, installation vendor selection and oversight.



Responsibilities

  • Interpret building construction drawings and establish subcontractor scopes of work
  • Perform digital takeoffs utilizing computer-based takeoff software.
  • Identify and establish a subcontractor base in various geographical regions of our working area.
  • Transmit plans and specifications to subcontractors for bidding purposes.
  • Establish bidding timelines with subcontractors to ensure receipt of bids.
  • Ensure bidding subcontractors have all necessary documentation required by Janus International to perform work on our behalf.
  • Assist in pre-construction walkthroughs with project management staff.
  • Assist the Project Management staff with subcontractor pricing and contracts.
  • Continually update upper management of all active and completed pricing exercises.
  • Create detailed schedules of value for all priced projects with subcontractor backup.
  • Present project scopes/bids/schedule/pricing to upper management for review
  • Assist in reviewing and vetting subcontractor bids ensuring the correct scopes of work are priced.
  • Assist the Project Management staff in creating a baseline, critical path schedule based on the subcontractor and historical data.
  • Work with other departments and internal staff to ensure compliance with Janus International Groups operational standards.
  • Assist the Project Management staff in pulling or establishing permits for various projects.
  • Research and identify the potential need for business licenses in varying markets.
  • Assist with contract scope review to ensure proper scopes are included.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of one to three years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills required including proficiency with MS Office & takeoff software.
  • Travel up to 20%.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, customer representatives & internal staff.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints. Possess a general knowledge of construction means & methods.
