The Baker Center for Children and Families operates The MA Child Abuse Emergency Line for the MA Department of Children and Families. We provide an emergency response system to keep children across the Commonwealth safe from child abuse and neglect.

Summary of position:
Emergency Line Telephone Screeners work in a supportive team-based environment, collaborating with experienced supervisors on shift to assess the urgency of each call, elicit critical information, and initiate an emergency response when children are at imminent risk. While the Emergency Line operates 24 hours/day 7 days/week, Telephone Screeners work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, when DCF is closed. We offer continuous training and individual supervision with a licensed social worker or LMHC. A Bachelor's degree in human services, social work or related field, is required. Candidates must reside in the New England area.
Essential duties:
Complete comprehensive 6-week training program for Telephone Screeners.
Work five 8-hour shifts/week staggered between 4:00pm-9:30am weekdays, one overnight shift/week, and staggered shifts throughout the weekend.
Engage callers to elicit as much information as possible.
Document information thoroughly and accurately in the case management system.
Review and assess information gathered with supervisors to make an informed decision.
Ensure confidentiality at all times in all situations.
Ensure a high level of customer service in every interaction.
Engage in individual supervision for professional growth and development.
Participate in a staff meeting and training once each month.
Qualifications and Skills: Education:
Bachelor's degree in human services, social work or related field, required.

Proficiency toggling between multiple computer programs
