Responsible for leading employees to ensure customer satisfaction by moving all shipments on time and damage free while observing the company and regulatory policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
Provide overall direction and support to internal stakeholders, including but not limited to selection, development, assigning daily tasks, performance management, mentoring, cross-training and other supervisory activities.
Plan daily manpower needs to ensure customers' freight is delivered and picked-up timely and damage free
Communicate with dispatch at various terminals and with dock employees to coordinate the movement of trailers and freight.
Communicate with other departments within as required
Monitor dock and yard to ensure proper loading techniques and ensure company policies and procedures are followed
Evaluate and reconfigure route structures and bids based on local tendencies and characteristics
Conduct safety meetings and facilitate quality groups
Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies
Perform administrative functions such as printing delivery receipts, manifest shipments on a trailer, billing freight bills, trace shipments, etc.
Provide clean and safe working condition of the facility and equipment; check security at customer center to ensure everything is secure
Communicate with Account Executive(s) to ensure customers' and company's needs are met
Identify freight moving at incorrect weight and classification
Ensure all OS&D is identified and processed properly
Monitor actual performance data and gather information for reporting
Conduct daily pre-shift meetings with reporting teams
Implement company policies
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Perform other duties as required Meets established cost benchmarks for the department.
Must be able to work flexible hours, Days, Night and Weekend Shifts

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, required
Post-secondary degree or four (4) years of directly related work experience
Four (4) years leadership experience in the transportation industry
Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.
Must have thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT and MTO rules and regulations, OSHA Laws, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC and tariff rules
Proven leadership experience and willingness to learn
Professional verbal, reading and written communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Ability to manage competing and changing priorities and possess excellent organizational skills
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint and Outlook)
Demonstrated ability to build professional rapport, effectively lead a team and positively influence diverse groups.
Proven ability to apply sound business judgment to establish and accomplish goals.
Customer service skills are necessary to effectively and professionally respond to requests and issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will have direct reports and is considered a leader within the company. Will be required to train and support a team to achieve departmental goals.
Language Skills:
The employee must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions, and proficiently write reports and business correspondence.
Must be fully Bilingual in English and Spanish, verbal and written.
Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort required.
Must be able to work well under pressure. Domestic/International travel and overtime are required when necessary.
