Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level two Audio System Technician position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
As a level two Audio System Technician your main function will be to provide support for a portable public address system capable of providing comfortable listening level to personnel in a facility or at an outdoor area as large as two acres (200 feet by 400 feet). The support shall include a podium, wired and wireless microphones, and appropriate military music for the occasion, speakers (indoor and outdoor, as appropriate), wiring and cables, and speaker stands. In addition, the technician will operate and monitor the equipment during special events and ceremonies.
Compensation Minimum: $65,000
Compensation Maximum: $74,000

Skills / Experience Required
Secret Clearance
6 years of experience/education providing audio/visual, public address, or VTC support
Proven experience in setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting portable public address systems, ensuring optimal performance in various environments
Proficiency in handling podium, wired, and wireless microphones, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
Expertise in setting up and operating indoor and outdoor speaker systems, ensuring clear and consistent audio coverage across areas as large as two acres (200 feet by 400 feet)
Strong skills in managing audio wiring and cables, including installation, organization, and troubleshooting
Experience in operating and monitoring audio equipment during live events, ensuring high-quality audio output and quickly addressing any technical issues that arise
Ability to select and manage appropriate military music for various occasions, ensuring seamless integration with event proceeding
Strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve technical issues with audio equipment during events
Keen attention to detail to ensure all audio components are correctly configured and operational
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with event organizers and other team members
Ability to adapt to different event environments and requirements, ensuring audio quality and reliability
Education / Certifications
6 years of experience/education providing audio/visual, public address, or VTC support
Minimum high school diploma

Security Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
