This position is responsible for payroll and benefits administration. In this position you will be collaborating with HR personnel as well as operations personnel across our regions.
Responsibilities:
Payroll:
Process semi-monthly payroll for our 5 companies along with another payroll specialist.
Process all employee actions and required documentation for new hires, employee changes, compensation changes, and terminations accurately and timely.
Provide timely response to employee payroll inquiries.
Coordinate and complete employment verification requests.
Maintain electronic employee records and information in various HR and Payroll systems.
Benefits:
Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
Responds to benefits inquiries on plan provisions, benefits enrollments and status changes
Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments and provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. Updates HRIS database with new and changing information; ensures accuracy and integrity of information. Responsible for employee benefit file maintenance and storage retention requirements.
Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.

Basic knowledge of human resource practices and current labor laws across multiple states.
Ability to become proficient in multiple software programs simultaneously.
Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, v-lookups and multi-function complex formulas.
Basic computer skills in office programs including Microsoft Outlook and Word.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be responsive and highly efficient with relaying information.
Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information.
Required Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
Previous Human Resource and Payroll experience required
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting or related field
Experience processing payroll in the state of California
Experience with UKG/UltiPro
