Job Description
We are hiring a Staff Engineer in our Minneapolis, MN location. As a Staff Engineer, roles may include on-site investigation work at contaminated soil, groundwater, sediment and soil vapor project sites, field oversight and documentation, sample collection, data logging, remedial design, technical document preparation and reporting.
Responsibilities
Perform Environmental Site Assessments and building material sampling
Conduct screening of soil and groundwater for various environmental contaminants
Oversee remedial projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications and coordinate monitoring and testing services
Document test results and reviews test data for accuracy and completeness
Assist with data collection and report preparation
Assist with remedial system design, engineering calculations, plans and specifications and construction cost estimates
Work with project manager and client to ensure that project objectives are met
Travels to local and regional project sites (up to 30% travel and 75% field work expected, based on project needs)
Assist senior staff with various environmental regulatory matters for clients
Assist regional environmental staff as needed with group workload
Skills
Data analysis, proficient in Microsoft platform applications
Written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, environmental, or geological engineering, or related engineering degree.
0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate, or ability to obtain within one year preferred
OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred
Experience with field data collection, investigation, and remediation oversight preferred
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
