Job Description: As part of the Gas Microcontamination business unit, this role supports the development of Gas Filter and Diffuser product designs by conceiving, designing, and developing new prototype filters/diffusers and coordinating with the R&D Media Development Team and Operations. The position utilizes a stage-gate approach for Technology Development and New Product Introduction as well as design, documentation, and layout product formats to satisfy requirements and supports improvement initiatives for existing and new products. The position additionally works with domestic and international company resources and vendors to move new concepts from prototype to production. The role will lead projects related to technology development and new product introduction as it relates to component prototype development for ultra-high purity gas filtration/diffuser technology and purification. Conceptualize, design, and develop Gas filtration and diffuser product with special emphasis upon high-purity processes and technology. Characterize and test new product to ensure specified requirements are met. Provide documentation support such as creating/maintaining drawings, SOPs, test procedures, test data. Perform a wide variety of testing and development tasks. Assist in performing root cause analysis on quality issues on new and existing products. Support continuous improvement initiatives with manufacturing unit.
Job Requirements: Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field and 2 years’ experience as a mechanical, mechanical design, or manufacturing engineer within the semiconductor or related industry OR Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related field plus 5 years’ post bachelor’s experience as a mechanical, mechanical design, or manufacturing engineer within the semiconductor or related industry.
Must possess 1 year of experience with the following:
Engineering design practices, solid modeling, CFD analysis, and creating manufacturing drawings for use in producing prototype components
Solid modeling software such as Solidworks, Autodesk CFD
Designing, fabricating, and qualifying test stands, consisting of the use of electronic interfaces, electrical controls/wiring, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or mechanical operation, using both insource and outsource resources to complete.
Hands-on fabrication of prototype designs, tooling, fixtures, test stands/equipment and any required equipment needing to be fabricated in place in a lab setting.
