Provides direct nursing assessment, care, and patient education in a clinic setting. Collaborates with members of the healthcare team and discusses patients progress and needs. Assists healthcare provider with examinations and treatments. Maintains high level of concentration, works under pressure, and meets deadlines. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
30% - Essential - Assessment and Advocacy: Recognizes signs and symptoms of physical and emotional illness. Functions as a patient advocate and provides patient education. Establishes and maintains confidence and cooperation of patients.
30% - Essential - Patient Preparation: Prepares patients for healthcare provider visits by taking patient's history, vital signs, current medications, allergies, and reasons for visit. Documents information in patient's record. Orders appropriate lab tests. Assists healthcare provider with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
30% - Essential - Patient Care: Performs prescribed medication administration, monitoring, and treatment to patients. Administers immunizations required by Clemson University. Provides a safe environment.
10% - Essential - Professional Development: Maintains individual nursing competencies and stays abreast of emerging trends in college health and higher education. Assumes responsibility of actions and judgments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing Licenses - Nurse - RN Registered; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Work Exp 1+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Associate's Degree - Nursing Work Exp 2+ years in a college or clinic setting
