Your Role:
The Microbiologist - 1st Shift role within the Quality Control department will perform microbiology testing on raw materials, manufactured good, purchased materials for repackaging, and packaged good for sale. The testing performed is against specifications that would show the material either meets or does not meet requirements, which includes Bioburden, Yeast and Mold, DNase/RNase, Protease, Cytotoxicity, and Endotoxin analysis. Job duties include:
Work closely with department supervisor and Team Leads to ensure that departmental tasks are completed on time.
Follow all safety requirements and refers to MSDS for PPE and other safety guidance.
Practice proper laboratory safety and waste disposal.
Perform testing per documented procedure.
Recognize out-of-spec (OOS) results and initiate OOS investigation.
Pays attention to detail and brings issues to Team Lead(s) or Supervisor's attention.
Has the ability to take on smaller projects/reoccurring tasks with minimal oversight.
Perform needed instrument verification/calibration during scheduled time.
Demonstrate Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Data Integrity Principles.
Execute daily testing using aseptic techniques
Plan and prioritize daily testing schedule based on incubation times.

Follows all policies and procedures as defined from Corporate and Site.
Develops and/or assist in the implementation of process improvement, safety, quality, and 5S ideas.
Organizes and maintains a clean and orderly work area in accordance with the administrative General Housekeeping policy/procedures.
Performs all functions in a safe and timely manner in accordance with OSHA standards and general rules and regulations governing the workplace.
Responsible for following general personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements as established by company policy.
Demonstrates professional working behavior when working with all staff and visitors.
Follow trained requirement to IPEC cGMP/ISO9001/14001/45001 Management Systems, if appropriate.
Seeks guidance from Supervisor as needed to ensure the above

Standing for extended periods of time
Lift up to 25 pounds unassisted
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or Life Science field
2 + years of academic or industry experience in a laboratory
Preferred Qualifications:
Detail oriented
Strong communication skills oral and written to report findings/issues to senior analysts, team leads, supervisors, or management
Experience with aseptic techniques
