The Regional Business Director (RBD) primary role is the leadership and management of an assigned Field Sales team, overseeing all aspects of the performance process for Territory Managers. Create regional business plans and implement national sales strategies and programs. Regional alignment and location preferences are covered further below.
Essential Accountable Functions/Responsibilities:
Recruiting, onboarding, and training of Territory Managers.
Manages region to maximize performance and achieve/exceed sales/budget targets.
Provides appropriate coaching to prepare Territory Managers for future development.
Responsible for all aspects of performance management process for Territory Managers; generally covering a multi-state, diverse area of the country.
Serves as active contributor on Sales leadership team and Commercial team overall.
Ensures Territory Managers collaborating with key departments to optimize level of support and ensure alignment.
Communicates routinely with peer leadership in key Commercial functions (e.g. Market Access, Marketing, Analytics, etc.) and other colleagues to ensure proper communication, alignment and execution of brand/product support plans.
Creates regional business plans and implements national sales strategies and programs.
Tracks success of marketing messages and programs.
Provides feedback to regional team on marketing, allocating, monitoring, and leveraging of internal and external resources.
Conducts regional sales meetings to guide regional team.
Assists in preferred pharmacy initiatives in collaboration with Market Access team.
Supports implementation of select regional market access/physician network programs in collaboration with Market Access team.
Qualifications:
7+ years of pharmaceutical/life sciences sales experience required with 2-3 years of successful sales management strongly preferred.
Account management/specialty pharmaceutical industry experience, including IDN, ACO, Managed Care and hospital/institutional settings. Sound analytical skills desirable.
Proven track record of success in building and leading pharmaceutical/life sciences teams and other relevant experience will be considered.
Preferred Experience includes, but not limited to:
Launching and bringing a new product to market
Working within an emerging organization
Adaptability/comfort with small company entrepreneurial lean-resourced mindset along with hands-on results orientation
Experience in other commercial/business functional areas, such as sales training, sales operations, marketing, market access and/or rotations in marketing/other internal assignments
Experience with challenging Managed Care access and/or specialty pharmacy experience.
Region comprised of Territory Managers based in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Utah, and Arizona. Strong preference for incumbent to be located in the areas of St. Louis or Kansas City, and if not based in these areas, living near major airport/key metropolitan areas within Mountain West Region.
Frequent business travel required; can range 60-75%.
Optinose anticipates that this position will have a base salary in the range of $170,000- $210,000 and an annual sales incentive compensation target of $60,000. Actual base salary is influenced by a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, level of experience, skill set, and location. This position will be eligible to participate in the Optinose Fleet Vehicle Program and benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, short- and long-term disability, a 401(k) Plan, vacation and sick days, stock options and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
