Our client is seeking an Expert Engineer to provide technical leadership and ensure the technical adequacy of all engineering activities within their discipline. This role involves solving complex engineering problems and applying extensive experience to practical applications. The position is accountable for compliance with design base requirements and the proper application of engineering methods in design and analysis.
Principal Accountabilities:
Review and approve design changes, calculations, analyses, licensing documents, system health reports, and other technical documents.
Define, implement, and manage major engineering programs or discipline groups with minimal guidance.
Ensure the technical quality and cost-effectiveness of engineering work.
Provide in-depth technical guidance and mentoring to engineering personnel.
Resolve complex system and component problems requiring broad system knowledge.
Identify and initiate corrective actions for potential design, quality, or operational issues.
Provide consultation on code or standards requirements, design and analysis methods, or licensing requirements.
Develop state-of-the-art engineering methods and practices and establish a professional reputation through technical publications and professional society participation.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science from an accredited institution, Professional Engineering (PE) license, or an advanced degree.
Twelve years of discipline-specific engineering experience, with at least seven years related to nuclear power.
Abilities and Skills:
In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, practices, theories, and methods to solve complex problems.
Advanced technical knowledge of related discipline principles.
Up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and applications.
