We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) with After-Hours experience covering large provider groups to serve as an APP Manager within our After Hours Call Program (AHCP) team. This role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, focusing on managing the AHCP care team providing coverage to Primary Care patients after standard office hours across MGB enterprise, overseeing virtual consultations, and guiding APP's and RN's in providing high-quality, efficient care. The APP Manager is anticipated to have a small amount of direct clinical hours (0.3 FTE). The APP Manager will ensure the smooth operation of the call coverage, enhance virtual visits, and play a vital role in the continued expansion of the program.
Duties & Responsibilities
Performs all essential functions of a Nurse Practitioner, providing direct patient care
Directly oversees and is accountable for the performance of a team of APPs and/or other direct reports
Hires, performance manages, and completes performance appraisals for a team of APPs and/or other direct reports
Orients, trains, and schedules staff
Assists with quality assurance programs as needed to help implement quality improvement efforts
Ensures continuing education and teaching for APPs
Acts as liaison between the hospital, physician and nursing staff, and other APPs
Ensures APPs are following proper billing compliance rules and methodology
Coordinates 90-day virtual visit (VV) training and NH licensing
Chart Review (in conjunction with leads)
Coordinates new growth opportunities, such as adding practices and critical results paging
Edits and creates clinical protocols based on evidence based and PCOI guidelines
Oversees the virtual visit branch of the program
Creates and oversees schedule, with frequent evaluations of staffing templates based on season and volume of calls
Provides input on appraisals, staff development, discipline and hiring and termination decisions
Provides short/long term strategic project management for initiatives including piloting projects, and implementing new technologies and digital products
Establishes a culture of service excellence across all practice sites and achieves superior patient experience results

Education:
Master's Degree in Nursing required
Experience:
5-7 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner required
Certification:
Certified Massachusetts, New Hampshire & Maine Nurse Practitioner license required upon hire
