Job Description Summary:

PayPal container platform team is responsible for building and maintaining the deployment platform for PayPal. Operating the platform at possibly one of the largest scale at peak efficiency, performance and security. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team and take it to the next level



Job Description:




Your Impact:




  • Next-Generation Cloud Platforms: Implement cutting-edge cloud platforms in a hybrid cloud setting to support PayPal business teams. Scale applications that serve millions of customers and process billions of dollars in payments.



  • Solution Development: Drive the adoption and implementation of various open-source distributed systems, delivering complete and robust products.



  • Innovative Solutions: Build creative, brand-new solutions from scratch and operate a platform built on best-of-breed technologies that will be open-sourced.



Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:




  • Collaborative Development: Work with cross-platform teams to develop or enhance products and services.



  • Solution Design: Understand requirements, design solutions, and collaborate with tech leads to create implementation plans.



  • Review and Integration: Participate in architecture and peer reviews, integrate your work into the larger platform ecosystem, and validate and sign off on your work.



  • Scrum Practices: Practice scrum methodologies, participate in scrum ceremonies, and track and document your work.



What you need to bring




  • Educational Background:



    • MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field + 1 year of experience in Java/Go, or


    • BS in Computer Science or a related field + 3 years of experience in Java/Go.





  • Technical Expertise:



    • Strong understanding of fundamental distributed system principles.


    • Experience in designing and building highly scalable and reliable systems.


    • In-depth knowledge of algorithms and data structures.


    • Experience in building efficient high-performance applications.





  • Technical Skills:



    • Hands-on experience with Docker/containerization technology, Kubernetes experience is a plus.


    • Familiarity with cloud technologies.


    • Strong Linux/system knowledge.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is
$60900 to $147400
