Job Description Summary:

PayPal Complete Payments team is responsible for providing multiparty payment processing solutions to all customer segments. We are the customer facing team within Product and Platform Engineering building the touch points that interact with our customers across all stacks (PayPal, Braintree and Hyperwallet), across all channels (online and in-store, web and mobile) for our Merchants.


As a manager, you will be responsible for managing execution of multiple projects/priorities. You will work in a fast-paced environment where you are expected to deliver projects with great success and bring in innovation and process improvements to create a greater impact.

In this role, the individual will be part of the PPCP Engineering team and will be


  • Responsible to deliver new features, improvements to enhance the customer experience at scale by providing the products with Quality, Reliability and scale.


  • Involve in the day-to-day development & support team.


  • Foster continuous learning and improve the tech stack to address functional and non-functional requests.


  • Collaborate with Architects, cross-functional teams to drive the vision laid out by product.


  • Able to understand, triage and guide teams in addressing issues with less impact.


  • Mentor engineers by providing guidance in each step of their career.


  • Manage 1 or 2 scrum teams and responsible for the delivery.


  • Interface with Professional Services, Business Units, directly with partners as part of launch and integration support





Your day to day



  • Ensure minimal operational overhead by automating maintenance tasks with easily manageable configurations, solving scalability bottlenecks to improve performance and maximize system availability by ensuring functional and performance SLAs.


  • Design, implement, and test complex, multi-tier distributed software application frameworks collaboratively with peers and technical leaders.


  • Mentor junior staff and/or team members in the best practices of code quality and coding practices. Enhances code quality across multiple projects and/or business units. Recognized for tech debt reduction.


  • Transform our teams and technologies across the enterprise to encourage adoption.


  • Project planning and estimating effort for the different phases


  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve end vision


  • Be part of the interview team to hire and build a world class engineering team.





What do you need to bring-



  • 10 to 12 years of engineering experience with at least 6 years of management experience in building customer focused products.


  • Hands-on experience in managing multiple scrum teams.


  • Experience in building high impact teams from ground up to deliver critical initiatives.


  • Strong top-down communication skills.


  • Understanding SOA architecture, ability to call out architectural and contribute to the architecture by driving the discussion.


  • Coaching/Mentoring teams, build next generation leaders.


  • Deep knowledge on building products, SDLC.


  • In-depth knowledge in building web applications, backend services.




  • Prior experience in monitoring large scale distributed systems. Demonstrated knowledge of automation for most of the manual tasks around SDLC with techniques such as packaging with Docker, ensuring a reliable CI/CD pipeline to build and deploy code, automated system restarts and alerting for all critical modules.

$96900 to $234300
