SUMMARY : Under the general supervision of the Foundation Facilities Manager, the General Maintenance Worker will independently perform general preventative and repair maintenance of non-technical tasks related to the upkeep and the operation of all buildings and equipment belonging to the Enterprise Foundation.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
Incumbent performs in emergency on-call status and responds to emergency call-ins for all buildings and equipment belonging to the Foundation; assists maintenance technicians in the performance of their duties as they relate to the completion of assigned technical tasks to all Foundation facilities.
Repairs involve the following trades:
Painting - interior/exterior fixtures and walls, repair plaster walls and refinish wood surfaces
Plumbing - toilets, sinks, showers and tubs, valves, garbage disposals, domestic water lines, water heaters, and irrigation
Carpentry - cabinets, drawers, doors, furniture, windows, and screens
Locks and keys - troubleshoot and repair lock mechanisms, lubricate, change out cores as directed, make repairs to striker plates, hinges, and other similar hardware as requested
General - perform assigned work order tasks to include general trades and repair to buildings and grounds, furniture, appliances, equipment, etc.
Special projects:
Complete or initiate work orders or inspections
Maintain logs on work history and reports on breakdowns
Perform inventory control of tools, equipment, supplies, etc.
Required to drive company vehicles to transport tools, equipment, employees, and materials
Perform servicing in a professional and courteous manner with all applicable customers
On occasion, may serve as a work party leader with other maintenance personnel and student assistants
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum three years' experience in maintenance or related field with emphasis in maintaining, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
Familiarity with common tools and equipment used in construction and maintenance work.
Familiarity with materials, tools, and methods used in general building repair and maintenance.
Must be able to work with minimum supervision, properly operate and care for equipment and supplies, observe and use safe working conditions.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and blueprints.
Must possess a valid CA driver's license and have current insurance.
Must be able to adhere to a regular work schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays and on-call.
