Summary: Seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic Business Intelligence team. Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient data flow and accessibility for analysis, decision-making, and internal data processes. Must possess a deep understanding of designing, implementing, and maintaining complex data systems. Must be familiar with different types of data storage, including SQL Server and/or Oracle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, construct, install, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making within the organization.
Develop and implement data integration and delivery solutions to consolidate data from various sources.
Design and optimize data storage solutions, including data warehouses and data lakes.
Identify, design, implement internal process improvements including redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes to support the company’s evolving data needs.
Understand complex data requirements and evolving business needs in order to deliver relevant data sets/solutions.
Provide support to stakeholders for data related technical issues, including applications and interfaces that access the data.
Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing, validation, cleansing, and error handling.
Document best practices and guidelines for support teams.
Implement data security and privacy measures in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve data engineering practices.
Provide insight on various development processes and methodologies.
Adapt to existing processes & methodologies.

Qualifications:
Proven experience as Data Engineer or in a similar role.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems, either SQL Server and/or Oracle.
Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data quality, metadata management, and performance tuning.
Experience with dimensional models.
General knowledge of Power BI and other reporting tools (Crystal Reports, SSRS).
Experience with ETL processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with data warehousing and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Knowledge of languages such as Bash scripting and Python (including common data libraries) preferred.
Familiarity with VSCode, version control and devops concepts preferred.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent education and work experience.
3+ years of experience in full life cycle development including design, development, implementation, documentation, training, and on-going support for enterprise level applications.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Understanding of basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to organize and prioritize.
