JOB DETAILS:

The Hospitality & Technology Innovation Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, Wisconsin, USA, invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Information Communication Technology to educate students for careers that span the continuum of positions working where business systems, data, and people intersect to achieve business objectives. As a polytechnic university, we support student learning in alignment with UW-Stout's polytechnic tenets of applied learning and research, business and industry collaboration, and career focused experiences. The anticipated start date is August 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree in business information systems, information technology, or a related field by employment start date
  • Five (5) years of related professional and/or teaching experience with Customer Relationship Management Systems, HTML, and systems that dynamically integrate content from databases into web pages
  • Commitment to student success
Preferred
  • Earned Doctorate (PhD or EdD) in a related field by employment start date
  • Record of successful teaching at the post-secondary and/or professional level in online and in-person modalities
  • Demonstrable experience with the use of Artificial Intelligence and its application to education, business and/or industry
The university emphasizes teaching excellence; candidates brought to campus will be required to teach a component of a class as part of the interview process and discuss how instruction partners/is supported by an online learning management system.

A terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA, etc.) required for promotion to full professor, unless by special exception process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include developing cross-disciplinary curriculum, strengthening business partnerships, and teaching coursework in the rapidly changing areas of Information and Communication Technologies, including Digital Marketing Technologies. Depending on the candidate's capabilities and the needs of the HTI Department, such courses may include Enterprise Systems, Web Development, Databases and Business Intelligence, Search Engine Optimization, Data, as well as Process Analysis. Teaching face-to-face, hybrid, online, and undergraduate and/or graduate courses may be included according to the needs of the HTI Department. In addition to teaching, all UW-Stout faculty are expected to engage in research, service, and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment dedicated to inclusive excellence. Additionally, faculty provide student academic advisement and conduct assessments of student learning, which includes contributing to academic program assessment and continuous improvement processes, in collaboration with faculty and staff.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The Hospitality & Technology Innovation (HTI) Department is housed within the School of Management under the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Management. The HTI Department serves three functions: instruction, professional service, and research. The HTI Department offers instruction for programs within the University focusing on hospitality and tourism, information and communication technologies, and digital marketing technologies. The Hospitality and Technology Innovation Department includes faculty and staff associated with the Digital Marketing Technology, Golf Enterprise Management, Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management, Information & Communication Technologies, and Real Estate Property Management disciplines.
