Summary The Logistics Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing our logistics and supply chain operations. This role involves developing efficient systems and processes to ensure the smooth and cost effective flow of goods from suppliers to customers.
Job duties include:
Conducting analysis to optimize costs related to transportation, packaging, logistics labor and warehouse capacity
Building cost model through evaluation of engineering, manufacturing, and material options
Analyzing the supply chain, transportation, and distribution network
Developing logistic metrics and key performance indicators
Developing mathematical models to determine the most cost-effective routes for the shipment of products
Developing engineering specifications that optimize the design requirements
Manufacturing process control, and final assembly needs
Providing sustaining engineering design control for product life cycle management
Identifying process bottleneck and developing solutions for process improvements
Analyzing the financial impact of proposed logistics changes such as routing shipping modes, product volumes or carriers, and developing supply chain risk management programs to ensure business continuity through engineering capabilities assessments, process evaluation, and material flow analysis
