Job Summary
The Buyer will manage the procurement process for raw materials and services critical to our manufacturing sites. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships. Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize purchasing processes and reduce costs.Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms.Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of quality materials and services.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and finance, to forecast needs and align procurement strategies.Monitor inventory levels and coordinate logistics for efficient supply chain management.Conduct supplier reviews to maintain quality standards and compliance.Prepare and analyze reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement.Support sales and inventory planning by anticipating requirements and reacting quickly to changes in demand.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA preferred.5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Proficient in purchasing software and ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Finance and Operations Dynamics 365 is a plus.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
