Full Time Cake Decorator at SUPERVALU Inc in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Description:

Cub Minnehaha on Snelling Avenue is looking for a Cake Decorator to join their team. Emphasis in this position is to ensure consistent product quality in meeting daily needs in the bakery department. This position requires creativity, attention to detail and on-going customer interaction while maintaining production requirements.

This position requires knowledge of bakery production and product preparation, food safety regulations, judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing and math. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. Assignments and work direction provided by Bakery Manager or person in charge

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

1. Assist customers

• Greet customers

• Answer customer questions; provides product sampling and suggestive selling

• Bring customers to location of item, when needed

• Assist with product replacement and price checks

• Answer bakery telephone calls promptly

• Record cake orders accurately and completely

1. Prepare bakery products

• Follow safe food handling and preparation processes

• Follow approved decorating styles and creates new decorations as appropriate

• Complete production assignments

• Ensure consistent quality and accuracy in decorating

• Accurately package, label and price product

• Assist in production, wrapping and labeling of bakery product

• Ensure a variety of product is prepared for maximum sales potential

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.
• Equipment operation (scanner, register, check approval machine, coupon machine, intercom)
• Reaching, standing, and turning.
• Judgement/decision making, social skills/verbal interactions.
• Memorization, reading, writing and math.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervisor may not be immediately available.
