Position Summary |
The Graduate Assistant, Corporate Sales for Athletics works with the Director of Corporate Sales and Marketing for Athletics to oversee La Salle University’s athletics corporate sales functions. The GA is responsible for developing and managing corporate marketing partnerships, creating a high volume of new business, and building and maintaining relationships with existing corporate partners. |
Essential Duties |
- Establish strong working relationships with local, regional and national corporations to understand specific marketing goals and business initiatives.
- Identify prospects in key open and new categories as prospective new business leads.
- Oversee fulfillment of sponsorship agreements, in conjunction with contracts developed by Director of Corporate Sales for Athletics
- Partner with external relations team to develop custom activation programs through existing and new La Salle Athletics’ assets to address prospects marketing goals and business initiatives while extending internal objectives.
- Develop customized proposals and sales presentations for new and existing business prospects.
- Work closely with external team to achieve property goals while meeting personal sales and account management objectives.
- Work game days, weekends, and special events to entertain existing partners and new business prospects.
- Athletic department specific responsibilities:
- Remain knowledgeable and in full compliance with the rules, regulations, and philosophies of the NCAA, various conference affiliations, and La Salle University.
- Immediately report any potential violations, eligibility problems, rules infractions, or disciplinary action of student-athletes immediately to a supervisor.
- Support La Salle University’s educational philosophy and the goals of the Athletic Department as a loyal, energetic, and highly visible University representative.
- Accept no speaking engagement for money, endorsements, or any other outside employment at any time without prior approval of your supervisor and/or the Athletic Director (or their designee).

Secondary Responsibilities |
- Serve on NCAA, Atlantic 10 Conference, University and department committees as assigned.
- Assist external relations team with select ticketing initiatives that involve engagement of corporate sponsors.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Unconditional acceptance and enrollment in a related La Salle master’s program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Demonstrated professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Successful background check clearances including a PA Criminal Records Check, FBI Fingerprinting Check, and PA Child Abuse Clearance Check.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in strategic planning, execution, and management.
- Experience in planning corporate marketing strategies, creating comprehensive proposals for potential clients, and appropriate price setting of asset portfolio.
- Business experience with collegiate or professional sports.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign).
- Experience with brand management, creative campaigns, multimedia technology and communication plans.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours |
- Travel and evening and/or weekend hours required (e.g., attend on-campus and off-campus athletic events, department events, donor functions).
- In exchange for the tuition benefit, this position will generally be expected to work 20 hours per week for the assigned semester(s).
- La Salle Graduate Assistants are permitted to work no more than 20 hours per week and may not hold any other on-campus job.
- (Optional) When possible, GAs in the division of Athletics & Recreation may be eligible for a secondary appointment as an Athletic Facilities Coordinator On-Call in exchange for on-campus housing. Interest and ability in living on campus will not impact an individual’s application for this GA position and the appointment will be documented on a secondary position description.

Graduate Assistants are enrolled La Salle graduate students, in good standing with the University, who are student employees doing work that is related to their course of study in exchange for compensation and a tuition benefit (1 course if working in the summer, 2 courses if working in the fall, and 2 courses if working in the spring). In exchange for the tuition benefit, this position will generally be expected to work 20 hours per week for the assigned semester(s).
La Salle Graduate Assistants are permitted to work no more than 20 hours per week and may not hold any other on-campus job. Acceptance of the tuition benefit provided will replace any other scholarship awards or discounts.
PLEASE NOTE: Graduate Assistants within the division of Athletics & Recreation may be eligible to elect a secondary position as an Athletic Facilities Coordinator On-Call in exchange for on-campus housing. This may include but is not limited to assisting with opening or closing athletic facilities and working athletic events at nights or on weekends outside of any regularly assigned responsibilities in the primary GA position.
