EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must have six (6) months of Diesel Mechanic experience or be graduate of Diesel Mechanic Training Program. Experience must be documented on application or resume (experience can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least a total of six (6) months).
Must have six (6) months of continuous work history with one (1) employer within the last twenty-four (24) months regardless of job performed in Maintenance or not.
Must have valid driver's license.

POSITION SUMMARY: Food Production - Maintenance (Diesel) Mechanic - Full-Time
Starting pay: $22.40
This position includes but not limited to Truck preventive maintenance technician will work cross-functionally across multiple areas of the garage, responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing routine preventive maintenance repairs on trucks, performing emergency mechanical or electrical failures. while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:
Must be willing and able to read and interpret instructions, manuals, and schematics.
Must have a current valid driver's license. Truck techs may be required to perform service calls on equipment at remote locations.
Basic math skills are necessary to perform these tasks at a satisfactory level.
Basic computer skills will be necessary to document information, process daily work orders, and complete required documentation.
Must have the ability to diagnose and repair our truck engine and systems with our diagnostic programs.
Must have the abilities to perform minor structural welding and cutting task.
Must have the ability to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned equipment.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all transportation personnel including managers, drivers, and clerks.
Upon hire, team member will be required to advance to ME02 within 12 months of hire date. (If not obtained then team member will be considered unable to meet job requirements)
Team member will be required to show proficiency with all tasks above before advancement. This will be graded by completing the preventive maintenance process and then work reviewed by Shop Manager/Supervisor will give official sign off.
Identify fault codes
Basic Electrical
Wheel end class/certification
Brake Inspector Certification
Show proficiency on standard preventive maintenance (PM1's, PM2's for trucks or trailers depending on mechanic classification)
