Conducts patient/family needs assessment; initiates and documents patient/family education, seeks guidance in advocating the patient/family needs when appropriate.
Delivers care consistent with unit operations to ensure safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient centered care.
Unit Description: The 6th floor is a Surgical unit specializing in orthopaedics and general surgery. The surgical patient population we serve includes but is not limited to:
Hepatobiliary
Colorectal
General Surgery
General orthopaedics (Total Knee, Total Hip, TMA, BKA, etc)
Overview of Department Services: The 6th floor Team includes RNs, student nurses, PCTs and Exercise Technicians. We work closely with our rehab partners and have a dedicated therapy gym on the unit. Each service line has dedicated advanced practice providers as part of the surgical team to support enhanced recovery and complex patient needs

Work Schedule: Rotating, 7a-7p 3 weeks, 7p-7a 1 week each month
Qualifications
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
Current AHA BLS certification required.
Basic computer skills are required.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Flat Rate: $34.50
Other Compensation (if applicable): Shift Differential
