Responsibilities
What you'll be challenged to do:
Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Rail Civil Design Engineer to join our Omaha, NE office. This role will support our Midwest Area on a variety of design and planning projects with an emphasis on Rail design. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to understand the application of engineering fundamentals on transportation engineering design projects for a variety of clients, particularly states, municipalities, and railroads. This position is with our Midwest Design Team.
A candidate for this position should have strong listening and communication skills with the ability to perform design tasks and develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates that relay a clear message. Additionally, the ideal candidate is someone who is motivated, eager to learn, a team player, and takes pride in their work. The primary types of projects the candidate will be assigned include freight and passenger linear railway design, industry facility rail design, and grading and drainage design. The opportunity to assist in other disciplines, as needed, is likely to include hydrology and hydraulics, highway design, traffic control, and site grading.
