In this role, you'll lead efforts on a strategic project focused on enhancing Medical Professional Liability (MPL) products, processes, and technologies. Working with diverse teams-including underwriting, claims, IT, and compliance-you'll be at the forefront of defining requirements, optimizing workflows, and driving impactful solutions. Your contributions will directly shape the MPL project's success, ensuring it meets regulatory standards and operational goals. Responsibilities
Gather and Document Requirements
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals and gather detailed requirements
Conduct interviews and workshops, creating clear documentation such as Business Requirements (BRDs) and user stories
Ensure all requirements meet industry standards and regulatory compliance
Analyze and Improve Business Processes
Assess existing MPL processes in underwriting, claims, and policy management to identify improvement areas
Create visual workflows, perform gap analyses, and support teams in adopting optimized workflows that reduce costs and increase efficiency
Data Analysis and Reporting
Analyze MPL-related data, such as claims metrics, to uncover trends and support project objectives
Design reports and dashboards to communicate insights effectively, enhancing data accessibility for stakeholders
Design and Validate Solutions
Partner with IT, product development, and external vendors to design solutions aligned with business and regulatory needs
Participate in testing, including creating and managing test plans and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure solution quality
Collaborate and Communicate with Stakeholders
Act as a liaison between project stakeholders, managers, and IT teams to keep all parties aligned
Prepare documentation, lead meetings, and communicate project updates proactively across departments
Support Risk Management and Compliance
Ensure project requirements and solutions comply with HIPAA and MPL regulations
Collaborate with compliance teams to integrate risk mitigation strategies into project planning, proactively addressing potential risks
Essential skills
Proficiency with business analysis tools like Microsoft Visio (or similar) for process mapping
Strong experience with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable requirements
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills focused on clarity and stakeholder engagement
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Desired skills
Experience with additional project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall)
Previous experience facilitating requirements workshops and conducting user acceptance testing (UAT)
Experience
7+ years as a Business Analyst, ideally in the insurance or healthcare industries
Knowledge of MPL insurance products, policy administration, and claims processes
Familiarity with regulatory compliance in healthcare or insurance settings, particularly MPL-related compliance
Proven success in requirements gathering, process mapping, and business process improvement
Demonstrated experience working on projects related to insurance, healthcare, or similar fields
