Anthos|Home is a groundbreaking startup focused on housing vulnerable New Yorkers. We're seeking a Vice President of Development to lead the Development team.
THE ROLE
The Vice President of Development will lead Anthos|Homes two-person high-performing Development team, raising $2-5 million+ in private revenue.
The VP will have an integral role at a critical time in the organizations growth. Anthos|Home is projecting to grow private revenue by 50% over the next three years. Reporting to the Chief Executive Office (CEO), this new role will be responsible for leading the day-to-day efforts of the Development team, overseeing the Director of Institutional Giving and Communications and the Development and Communications Specialist. The organization requires an experienced and visionary leader to help increase the amount of private funding raised over the next few years.
Anthos|Home has a robust foundation fundraising program in place. We are now looking for someone to help grow this further and, specifically, to add significant giving to our portfolio to support our ambitious growth. The successful candidate will have a history of securing significant corporate and foundation fundraising, will have substantial experience with principal and major gifts, and will have overseen fundraising events. They will have experience creating and implementing comprehensive development and storytelling strategies, a passion for managing teams, and a commitment to systematizing and leveraging data to support fundraising strategy. We are looking for a exible, emotionally intelligent leader with direct experience in growing teams and securing transformational revenue.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership
Works in partnership with the CEO, the Development team, and key Board members to set annual goals across revenue sources.
Effectively leads and organizes the Development teams day-to-day operations, budgets, streamlines process and procedures, and establishes team goals and Key Performance Indicators
Leads and mentors a skilled staff to meet the challenges of an ambitious revenue plan.
Supports a culture of data, overseeing processes for data gathering, reporting, and analytics.
Commits to and actively supports a culture of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Allyship in all aspects of their work and across the organization.
Development and Revenue Growth
Responsible for strategy development, implementation, and measuring success of the annual revenue growth of our philanthropic income.
Creates and implements strategies for identifying and cultivating new sources of corporate and foundation funding. Serves as an ambassador and spokesperson for the organization and articulates its mission to external constituents.
Brings existing relationships with and knowledge of a wide range of funders and grows institutional, corporate, and foundation prospects and donors, working closely with Anthos|Home staff to schedule and lead meetings, events and site visits, and ensure the timely delivery of deliverables.
Directly manages a portfolio of institutional and individual funders with the goal of building multi-year, comprehensive partnerships that include nancial, programmatic, and technical support on current fundraising programs, practices, and procedures, implementing relevant AI and use of social media as applicable into the work.
Becomes expert in our program model and keeps up-to-date with the evolving context in which we work, the progress of our programs, and with emerging trends and opportunities in philanthropy.
Reviews grant proposals and budgets.
Provides leadership and drives growth in the development of a new individual giving program.
Strategizes for Anthos|Homes first fundraising event, expected to be held in 2026. The VP will oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of the event, ensuring maximized revenue growth and an entry point for new supporters to the organization.
Collaborates cross functionally with the Program team to support the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of key funders.
Provides assistance to the CEO to support all board relations, governance, and quarterly meetings in connection with the development work.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

10-15 years of progressive experience in nonprot fundraising.
Demonstrated experience in successfully managing a portfolio of institutional, corporate and foundation funders, in individual fundraising and managing major gift donors, and in organizing and overseeing high profile fundraising events.
Must have a strong understanding of all aspects of successful institutional giving processes, proposals and budget development.Successful history of designing progressive fundraising strategic plans.
Strong people management skills with proven ability to both lead and inspire teams to meet ambitious goals.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to condently pitch and present to senior level corporate and foundation staff and individual donors.
Experience working closely with a Board of Directors.
Ability to successfully set priorities and have keen analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills that support and enable sound decision making.
Energetic and self-directed, with effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to simultaneously manage several priorities and team members.
Must be technology procient and have comfort learning new applications such as Salesforce, and Slack, among others, to facilitate our daily work.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Competitive starting salary: $140,000-$150,000 (dependent on experience).
Hybrid work environment (at least three to four days in the office per week, with after-hours and weekend availability as needed).
