The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) at Florida International University (FIU) seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, within the Department of Dermatology. The position will be responsible for providing specialty medical care and provide outreach and education to the university and general community. The role will participate in quality improvement and peer review activities and work collaboratively and effectively with the health care team promoting coordinated and safe care for patients.
The Assistant/ Associate Professor also will support our institution's educational and scholarly efforts focused on education, clinical excellence, and compassionate patient care and participate as a clinical based teaching faculty for students rotating at the Ambulatory Care Center. The role will support clerkship educational goals, learning objectives, and provide outpatient learning opportunities based on best practices.
Minimum QualificationsMinimum qualifications include a terminal degree in medical sciences (MD or DO) with a specialty in Dermatology. Must be board certified or board eligible and be able to obtain board certification within one (1) year of employment. Must have a valid and unrestricted Florida medical license or be able to obtain a medical license in the state of Florida.
Desired QualificationsPreferred qualifications include previous clinical experience, knowledge of billing practices, previous experience serving diverse populations and working with medical students. Proficiency in Spanish and/or Creole within a clinical setting is desired. Looking for someone who can work cooperatively within a multi-specialty faculty group practice that includes advanced healthcare providers and educators. Primary focus on medical dermatology but proficient in surgical and cosmetic dermatology.
