Tutor PoulsboSalary: $18.20 - $24.23 per hour*Classification: Instruction & Classroom Support Tech 1Location: Poulsbo CampusReports to: Director of Tutoring *This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future vacancies. Individuals will be contacted as vacancies occur. Olympic College is continuously recruiting for an Instruction & Classroom Support Tech-Tutor position that may occur throughout the year for various departments at the Poulsbo Olympic College Campus. This position will be responsible for helping students develop abilities in the discipline in which they are working. Disciplines are based on student needs and will include Biology, Chemistry, Composition, Engineering, English, Languages, Mathematics, and Writing. Part-time positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Individuals who apply to the applicant pool are considered active for 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Providing academic support for students in one or more non-stem-related subject areas.Assist students in analyzing assignments and assigned readings.Assist students in interpreting discipline-specific problems and situations.Assist students in clarifying critical thinking and/or communication skills.Assist students working in an online format.Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsReference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student.High School Graduate, Equivalent, or Current Running Start Student. Completion of course(s) to be tutored with an average decimal grade of 3.5 or higher.Basic computer Competency.

Terms of Employment



Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement. This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $18.20 to $24.23 DOE. They are not initially eligible for benefits upon hire but could qualify for the following.
Deferred Compensation Program (DRS) retirement savings plan; TIAA supplemental retirement savings plan, sick leave, paid holidays, Aflac, space available tuition waiver, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), fitness center, reduced rate, and priority consideration on-site childcare on a space available.**Possibility of hire pay with the summation of official transcripts upon hire.
