Part-time Role Description
We're looking for a meticulous and organized Document Specialist to support our Account Management team in managing clients' confidential documentation and filing divorce cases with courts nationwide. This position is Monday through Friday 10AM to 2PM at our Alameda, CA office. This high-importance, entry-level role is a perfect fit if you want to make an impact at a rapidly growing legal tech startup. You'll play a key part in ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of legal documents, helping to shape a more accessible divorce process for all.
Responsibilities
Maintain records of incoming and outgoing mail, tracking delivery and receipt
Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages
Process outgoing mail and ensure it is sent out promptly and accurately
Prepare legal documents for filing with the court, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedural requirements
File documents with the court in a timely manner, following specific guidelines and protocols, including any feedback provided by the Account Management team
Monitor and maintain inventory of office supplies related to mail processing and filing duties
Maintain confidentiality and security of all documents handled in-office
Requirements
Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g. Google Drive suite and document management systems)
Reliable vehicle for commuting to and from post office
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document handling and filing
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Proven experience in a similar role (legal, government, etc)
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in legal / paralegal studies, or related field is a plus
