Whistler Capital Partners ("WCP") is a Nashville-based private equity firm focused on growth equity and growth buyouts in the healthcare industry and related tech-enabled services verticals. Nashville is a leading healthcare services hub, and home to over 500 healthcare companies with operations on a multistate, national, or international basis. WCP was formed in September 2021 through the spin-out of the investment team at Starr Investment Holdings, LLC ("SIH"). WCP's core team transitioned from SIH after deploying more than $3.5 billion of capital and achieving attractive returns over the past decade. Today Whistler Capital manages over $1.4 billion in assets and targets majority equity investments.
WCP is seeking to add a Pre-MBA Associate to the growing and cohesive investment team. The Associate will play a critical role in managing new investment transactions and add-ons, due diligence, closing processes, and portfolio management. The Associate will be given significant responsibility as a crucial member of the deal team.
Responsibilities:
Support all aspects of the investment process, including new deal sourcing, execution of new investment transactions and add-ons, due diligence, portfolio management, and exit strategies
Conduct thematic research on attractive healthcare sub-sectors that present compelling investment opportunities
Collaborate with team members to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities including reviewing and evaluating new platform portfolio companies and add-ons, managing due diligence, structuring financing, and working with senior-level executives
Conduct financial modeling, valuation analysis, and transaction execution and assist in the preparation of investment committee presentations and other materials
Participate in the oversight and support of portfolio companies including monitoring and analyzing the performance and providing strategic and operational support as needed
Represent the firm in interactions with various stakeholders including developing and maintaining relationships with industry professionals, bankers, third-party advisors, and other stakeholders
Qualifications:
2-4 years of relevant experience from investment banking or private equity firm
Strong quantitative and analytical skills with fluency in financial statements and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of corporate finance, capital markets, accounting, and M&A finance fundamentals
Proficiency in building complex financial models with a concentration on leveraged buyout transactions
Strong organizational skills, business and investment judgment, and superior attention to detail
Excellent critical thinking, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, exceptional communication and presentation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, advisors, and other stakeholders
