SpaceNav is a Boulder, Colorado based spaceflight dynamics company with operations in several states, with mass in Colorado and Maryland. SpaceNav is a rapidly growing small business that develops products and supplies services to both government and commercial spacecraft owners/operators, with emphasis on flight safety, collision avoidance, maneuver planning, and orbit design. As a Talent Acquisition and Outreach Professional, you will be at the center of growth in the rapidly expanding and increasingly exciting global space economy. As SpaceNav's Talent Acquisition and Outreach Professional, you will help shape the future workforce by promoting and filling job openings, leading online outreach, and implementing innovative techniques for promoting professional development, retention, and recruiting.

Responsibilities:

The Talent Acquisition and Outreach Professional performs the functions:
  • Recommend and implement recruitment strategy and talent sourcing enhancements to align with SpaceNav's business strategy. Maintain a staffing plan and collaborate with SpaceNav leadership to identify current and forecast gaps in personnel expertise.
  • Review employee onboarding process, recommend, and implement enhancements. Incorporate topics that include timekeeping and workplace expectations and introduction to company products, customers served, and contracts.
  • Regular review benefits offered by industry and regional employers; assess and recommend improvements to SpaceNav benefits to competitively recruit and retain talent. Collaborate with SpaceNav accounting and contracts administration to periodically evaluate and update labor categories and salary bands.
  • Engage with recruiters, online platforms, and sourcing agencies to develop and manage a qualified candidate pipeline.
  • Receive, organize, and review candidate resumes. Perform initial candidate assessment including initial contact and screening. Describe company benefits in detail, and communicate the full compensation package.
  • Schedule technical interviews and maintain communication with candidates and engineering staff. Prepare and execute offer letters; facilitate negotiation. Shepherd candidates from receipt of offer through hiring and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with SpaceNav legal advisor and maintain cognizance of labor laws in states where SpaceNav has employees. Develop plans for achieving compliance if laws change, and when SpaceNav work expands to other states. Maintain documentation for evidence of compliance. Update SpaceNav Employee Handbook, IT Policies, Timekeeping Policies and other documentation as needed.
  • Maintain SpaceNav web presence and social media outreach. Maintain the SpaceNav website's careers, news, and milestones. Add content to SpaceNav's LinkedIn page and other social media platforms.
  • Define an employee professional development program and employee engagement strategy. Conduct regular professional development discussions with local and remote engineering teams and with individual employees. Discover and recommend ideas for improving company culture and sense of belonging.
  • Limited travel (less than 10%) may be required to perform onsite onboarding, attend relevant conferences, and participate in recruiting events.

Qualifications. The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational or Engineering Management. Other relevant majors will be considered.
  • Three or more years' experience performing in corporate human resources, recruiting, marketing, or business operations.
  • Previous experience working in the space economy is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using or customizing applicant tracking system applications and other human resource software.
  • Expert fluency using all Microsoft Office products. Familiarity with workforce analytic tools is desired (Tableau, PowerBI, Workday, etc.).
  • Demonstrable analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • An understanding of labor laws and compliance requirements with demonstrable past experience. Experience engaging with corporate legal services is desired.
  • Experience maintaining and publishing web pages. Experience performing business social media outreach.
