Job Description:

Xellar Biosystems (Xellar) is a fast-growing AI + Wetlab drug discovery company with huge market potential, currently located in Boston, MA. We combine machine learning and AI with large-scale wet-lab experiments to tackle the most challenging problem in modern drug discovery - harnessing the complexity of human biology to accelerate drug discovery. We are seeking a passionate individual to join our AI & Data Science team to develop image analysis methods to detect and quantify drug effects based on the high-content images, digital pathology, and medical images.

Responsibilities
  • Develop algorithms for image processing, image segmentation, image classification, image generation, and representation learning, based on digital pathology and high-content cellular images.
  • Collaborate with biologists and pathologists to understand project needs and deliver effective image analysis solutions
  • Develop image analysis software for internal/external use
  • Perform image analysis for internal teams or external partners

Qualifications
  • Ph.D degree in computer science, biomedical engineering, computational biology, or relevant technical field. 3+ industrial experience preferred
  • Strong background in machine learning and deep learning. familiar with deep learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or JAX
  • Familiar with open-source packages of computer vision such as OpenCV, scikit-image.
  • Experience with digital pathology and high content image analysis
  • Experience with cloud computing environments, or full stack software development is a plus.
  • Ability to perform in-depth data analysis and present results internally/externally.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
