Circular Genomics (CG) is a venture-backed biotechnology startup for the development of genomic-based medical diagnostics and prognostics. Circular Genomics uses novel circular RNA molecules as novel and improved biomarkers to diagnose and treat psychiatric and neurological conditions. This new biomarker technology is poised to revolutionize the current standard of treatment for individuals suffering from depression and other psychiatric or neurological disorders.
Circular Genomics is hiring aScientist to join our research team. In this position, you will be responsible for performing basic molecular biology techniques to study clinical and research patient samples. This position requires excellent technical, organizational, and time management skills, plus the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively.
Responsibilities
Perform basic molecular genetic techniques.
Analysis and interpretation of clinical research data.
Maintain detailed documentation of procedures and results.
Maintain laboratory equipment and preparation of reagents
Supervise the work of research associates and technicians executing work plans designed by the candidate.
Summarize/report data and generate presentation materials.
Present data in lab, group meetings, external meetings and provide materials/slides for other scientists at project or company levels.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support project specific needs.
Provide daily maintenance of the laboratory, including the receipt and unpacking of reagents, cleaning of work surfaces, and routine ordering.
Manage projects as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Masters or PhD with 4+ years of experience in molecular biology research.
Extensive knowledge of molecular genetic testing including RNA extraction, PCR, sequencing, and other techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills applied to investigations.
Potential knowledge in neurosciences or psychiatric/neurological disorder research would be a plus.
Potential expertise in circRNA research and bioinformatics would be a plus.
CLS accreditation would be a plus.
