Full-Time: Evenings, 40 Hours. Sunday and Monday: 10:30 am - 11:00 pm, Thursday and Friday: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
The Computed Tomography Technologist is involved in hands on patient care. The Computed Tomography Technologist manages room workflow and facilitates care of patients in conjunction with the Computed Tomography Supervisor.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision and following established procedures and protocols facilitates Computed Tomography examinations for all patients.
Checks for contrast allergies and contraindications for all patients.
Verifies accuracy of protocols prior to exams.
Adheres to policies and procedures for daily operations.
Works with the Computed Tomography Supervisor to ensure that the imaging standards are maintained.
Participates in the research and development of new exam and protocols.
Enters the appropriate charges in EMR accurately for all exams.
Ensures that all exams are of high quality and available for interpretation in a timely fashion.
Follows workflow plan developed by the supervisor and alerts the supervisor to problems as necessary to a changing environment.
Recommends changes to the protocol that would improve the overall quality and care for the patient.
Participates in the quality assurance plan for the Computed Tomography program.
Actively participates in plan of action in accordance with workflow needs.
Monitors the equipment performance and takes the appropriate measures to have the problems resolved (i.e. arrange service/repairs).
Performs equipment QC on scanners, temperature checks on contrast warmer and refrigerator.
Maintains competency on injectors, POCT devices etc.
Consistently demonstrates effective communication, both written and verbal, with all departmental, hospital staff, and vendors.
Performs all other duties as assigned or required to ensure efficient operation of the department and quality patient care.

Qualifications
• Must have graduated from an approved program in Radiologic Sciences
• Massachusetts Department of Public Health licensure for Radiologic Technologist and CT, required.
• ARRT registry in Radiologic Sciences, required.
• ARRT registry in Computed Tomography, required.
• BCLS, required.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a licensed technologist preferred.
• Staff adheres to all I.C.A.R.E. Standards
• Effectively and efficiently produce high quality radiographic imaging studies
• Must be able to multi-task and think in a proactive manner
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Work in an area that can be noisy and have extreme temperature/ humidity variations.
• Work in settings that produce ionizing radiation. Minimal exposure possible with safe work practices.
• Continuous standing, sitting and lifting.
• Exposure to human waste and disease.
• Must be able to lift and move >25 pounds of weight. Will require movement of hospital equipment, supplies, etc.
• May require up to 100 pounds of force in pulling/pushing/lifting/supporting movements associated with patient's ambulation, transfers to/from wheelchairs and stretchers, or other movements.
• Stress from interacting with hospital staff, patients, and family members presenting with serious medical conditions.
