The Senior Director of Development cultivates and solicits major gift needs for the athletics department. Moreover, the Senior Director of Development liaises with Athletic Development leaders to strategically align with department and sport-specific needs with the interests and resources of donors.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Develop, cultivate, solicit and steward a donor portfolio of 125 major giving prospects.
Meet impactful interaction and solicitation goals set annually by supervisor in alignment with department priorities.
Documents all contacts, communications, visits, and proposals in appropriate donor files.
Assist in managing fundraising strategy with the Associate AD of Development to maximize donation revenue and major gift pipeline efficiency.
Ensures regular communications and stewardship with donors, including re-solicitations, and proper acknowledgement of gifts and pledge payments.
Determines fundable sport-specific projects and packages them appropriately for consideration by donors.
Assist in the development of a comprehensive communications strategy supporting the overall fundraising process.
Research and solicitation of planned and deferred gifts
Makes recommendations to leadership and coaches concerning their roles and involvement in identifying, cultivating, or soliciting donor prospects.
Other duties as assigned by Associate Athletic Director for Development.
Responsible for maintaining compliance with all NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, University of Miami and departmental policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
