Basic Job Functions:



The role of the Lab Technician includes, but is not limited to, responsibilities for the chemical analysis of steel samples for the Melt Shop Lab. This includes periodic maintenance of the ARL spectrometers, grinding equipment, Leco, and Bruker X-Ray machines. Preparing and analyzing slag samples, as well as the disposition / grading of products in the Melt Shop are additional responsibilities. The successful teammate will also have the ability to work in a past-faced, industrial environment. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:



The ability to lift 50lbs to a height of 42" on a daily basis.

The ability to work flexible schedule, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience with Melt Lab testing equipment and procedures.
  • Mechanical ability and software proficiency.
