Job Summary:
The Director of the Offices for Faculty Experience (OFE) plays a pivotal role in managing strategic initiatives that align with the priorities set by the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Chief Wellness Officer (CWO) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. This leadership position encompasses comprehensive responsibility for the fiscal, operational, and human resource functions of the OFE, while also providing expert advice, coaching, and facilitation to promote teamwork and sustainability of initiatives. The Director will oversee significant projects from ideation to implementation, collaborating with leaders in the Offices of Faculty Affairs, Faculty Development, and Faculty Relations, as well as the Work and Culture Optimization Collaborative. This role emphasizes enhancing operational effectiveness, implementing innovative solutions, supporting OFE team members, and fostering collaborations throughout the University of Colorado School of Medicine and its partners.
The OFE Director has proven leadership skills with a strong background in operations, change management, and conflict resolution. They have experience in creating inclusive, high-functioning collaborative work environments, both in-person and remote, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in utilizing technology and software to enhance operational effectiveness. The OFE Director focuses on people, processes, and outcomes, with a commitment to fostering a positive workplace experience.

Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning and Support: Collaborate with the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty to develop, implement, and monitor initiatives that enhance faculty experience, while optimizing OFE operations and culture.
Project Leadership: Direct cross-functional teams, comprised of staff and faculty team members, to successfully deliver OFE projects within established timelines and scopes. Lead operational decision-making, coordinate across work units, and refine organizational processes to ensure project milestones are met.
Team Development and Change Management: Build and nurture high-performing teams, facilitate organizational change, and advocate for OFE's needs and goals in alignment with the Senior Associate Dean's vision and the broader mission of the School of Medicine.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for faculty and staff within the OFE, partnering with human resources to attract and retain top talent and ensure a seamless transition for new hires.
Continuous Improvement: Drive efforts to enhance the usability, accessibility, efficiency, and value of OFE services. Stay informed about the latest technologies and best practices in faculty affairs and development to implement innovative solutions.
Performance Metrics Development: Create metrics and milestones to assess success across OFE initiatives, ensuring alignment of priorities with leadership in various units. Guide the development of processes to collect, track, and report data for informed decision-making.
Collaboration and Synergy Evaluation: Identify strategic opportunities for collaboration with other departments and units, promoting efficiency and enhancing the overall faculty experience.
Compliance and Financial Oversight: Oversee, develops, and supports the appropriate administrative staff to ensure compliance with all administrative and fiscal policies and procedures. Oversee budget preparation, financial analysis, and reporting in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and draft internal and external contracts for the OFE, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with institutional goals and compliance with university policies.

This position reports directly to the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty & Chief Well-being Officer for the School of Medicine. As a senior-level administrator for the OFE, the Director is responsible for overall financial performance, business, and administrative functions. They are also responsible for monitoring performance, advising leadership, and partnering across OFE programs. The position requires a large degree of independent action to be a successful key partner to the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty & CWO.
Supervision exercised:
The OFE Director manages, leads, and directs staff within the OFE across business and academic services, with 'dotted line' co-management of non-direct reports including staff, faculty, and Assistant and Associate Deans.

Work Location:

This unit includes the Office for Faculty Relations (OFR), the Office for Faculty Development (OFD), the Office for Faculty Affairs (OFA), and the School of Medicine's Faculty Work & Culture Optimization Collaborative for well-being.
