Cardiac Hospitalist - State College PA
Geisinger's Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a skilled Cardiac Hospitalist Physician to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a Cardiac Hospitalist, you will provide professional services to patients including procedures such as transesophageal echocardiograms and cardiac stress testing, consultations, and hospital rounds.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians and act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses.
- Participate in academic programs, such as medical education and research, as requested.
- Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements and appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participate in inpatient consultation for specialty, which will include on-call.
