About the Role

Makes and services a variety of agricultural loans.  Operates under a specified credit authority.  Solicit and establish new business relationships for the bank.  Responsible for expansion of existing business relationships, the development of new business, and the management of branch or segment of business lending activities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Obtains, reviews and analyzes all necessary financial data.

    
    
  
  
  • 
    

    Makes decisions on loans and terms within established lending limits in conjunction with an experienced banker.

    
    
  
  
  • 
    

    Handles customer service issues/operating issues.

    
    
  
  
  • 
    

    Maintains acceptable level of past due loans.

    
    
  
  
  • 
    

    Attends to technical exceptions.

    
    
  
  
  • 
    

    Ensure regulatory compliance.

    
    
  
  
  • 
    

    Maintains quality credit files and presentations.

    
    
  
  
  • 
    

    Cross-sell other banking products or services.

    
    
  
  
  • 
    

    Call on prospective accounts.  Follow-up on referrals.

    Coordinate and/or participate in group events or social or community events.

    Develop a network of referral sources.

    
    
  
  
  • Interview applicants to develop information concerning their businesses, needs, desires, abilities, and earnings to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk.

    Coordinate with and support branch operations staff.

    Handle customer relationships with a low to moderate degree of complexity and credit exposure.

    
    
  
  
  • 
    

    Maintain an average loan portfolio of approximately $10MM-$15MM.

    
    
  
  
  • 
    

    Handle customer relationships with a moderate to high degree of complexity and credit exposure.

    
    
  
  
  • Maintain an average loan portfolio of approximately $20MM to $30MM.
  
  
  
  

Skills and Qualifications

• 
  

  Must possess working knowledge of agriculture, banking, and loan processes and procedures. 

  
  


• 
  

  Previous analytical experience in a lending environment is preferred. 

  
  


• 
  

  Combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet essential functions and required competencies of the position. 

  
  


• 
  

  A four-year college degree in a business or finance related field is preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Basic PC skills and proficiency of the English language. 

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to concentrate and work independently.

  
  


•
