Job responsibilities include gathering, processing, analyzing, validating, and presenting financial, schedule, and business-related data to assist the Flight Test Program Manager in the planning and management of Flight Test department projects. The Flight Test Project Analyst develops and maintains Flight Test and Flight Operations budgets and all project integrated master schedules and uses business analytics to develop and maintain data on the functioning and health of Flight Test and Flight Operations.
The Flight Test Project Analyst develops and provides decision-quality information for the leadership of Flight Test and Flight Operations.
This role interacts with all teams within Flight Test as well as the New Business Aircraft Program, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Customer Support as necessary to obtain required inputs to planning tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Collects, imports, enters, consolidates, reconciles, validates, maintains, and protects program management data.
2. Organizes and analyzes data and produces various schedule, financial, and risk related outputs.
3. Presents output in approved formats to the Flight Test Program Manager as well as the Flight Test & Flight Operations leadership team.
4. Develops and maintains project schedules to manage execution of projects, and reports on status, priorities, accomplishments, and projections.
5. Coordinates with the Flight Test Program Manager for program and functional approval of schedules.
6. Analyzes schedule changes and updates to synch / consolidate / format / and deliver information to the Flight Test Program Manager and Flight Test & Flight Operations leadership.
7. Highlights and summarizes schedule changes or anomalies, assesses risk or issues affecting Project or Program execution, and informs the Flight Test & Flight Operations Leadership Team as appropriate.
8. Develops yearly budgets for the overall operation of Flight Test & Flight Operations, as well as budgets for each specific flight test Project or Program in support of Project or Program objectives.
9. Coordinates with the Flight Test Program Manager and Finance to track expenditures relative to plan, develops risk analyses relative to spend plans, and updates budgets as required on a quarterly basis.
10. Provides data analysis, information gap identification, data trends, and action plan recommendations to the Flight Test Program Manager.
11. Assists in the creation, maintenance, and continuous process improvement of Flight Test & Flight Operations metrics, KPIs, related tools, and Flight Test & Flight Operations policies and procedures.
12. Interfaces with other departments and suppliers to gather required information, analyzes the effect of changes in projects and programs on Flight Test projects and resolves problems.
13. Escalates issues to appropriate level of leadership as needed to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
14. Handles all work assignments and data access in a professional and confidential manner.
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, or Engineering is required.
2. Requires prior experience/knowledge/interest in complex system development, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, attention to accuracy and detail in work output, and strong organization / time management skills are required.
2. Strong analytical skills are required including ability to simplify and automate recurring data mining or reporting, as well as being able to effectively conduct manual data entry and analysis when necessary.
3. Detail oriented, able to understand complex relationships between competing variables.
4. Demonstrated proficiency at an advanced level in Microsoft Excel and Project (or equivalent spreadsheeting and project management applications) is required.
5. Proficiency in use of word processing and presentation applications.
6. Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies is highly desired.
7. Must be an effective collaborator.
8. Must be effective in working in an environment that requires the ability to: manage multiple assignments simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and produce quality and timely deliverables.
9. Knowledge, or interest in aerospace, new aircraft development is desired.
