Required Core Hours/Time Zone: Pacific

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing project leadership and task management for our transformational HCM program. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PM to work closely with Functional and Technical leadership, cross-functional teams, and subject matter experts to plan for and manage key project activities as we transition to our new cloud-based HR system.

This role demands a proactive project leader who can effectively balance strategic planning with hands-on project management and execution. Job Responsibilities

Project Leadership, Planning and Execution: Lead and manage large and complex workstreams from initiation to completion. Take ownership and accountability for project delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, project governance, and quality standards. Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related activities within area of responsibility. Develop and manage plans that outline the scope, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements, risks, and interdependencies. Coordinate project activities, track progress, and manage project risks and issues. Monitor progress, track milestones, and resolve any issues or roadblocks that may arise during project implementation.

Project Team Management: In conjunction with functional and technical leadership team, lead a project team, assigning roles and responsibilities to team members. Provide direction, guidance, support, and motivation to ensure effective teamwork and project collaboration.

Stakeholder Management and Communications: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, sponsors, accountable leaders, resource managers, external partners, and team members. Manage expectations, solve problems, escalate issues, and drive decisions.

Project Governance: Establish and follow project governance structures, processes, and frameworks to ensure effective decision-making, risk management, and reporting, including regular progress reporting, milestone tracking, and project status updates.

Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources across projects. Optimize resource utilization, address conflicts, and monitor resource availability to ensure project success.

Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues across the project. Develop mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and escalation procedures to minimize potential disruptions and address challenges. Maintain RAID log.

Monitoring and Control: Implement processes to monitor and control project progress, milestones, scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables. Regularly assess project performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide status reports to stakeholders.

Change Control: Manage changes within the project, including changes in scope, requirements, or timelines. Evaluate change requests, assess their impact on the project, document change decisions, and communicate changes effectively to stakeholders.

Vendor Management & Partnership: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, including performance monitoring, and issue resolution.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation, process enhancements, and lessons learned.

Must Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience noted below
  • 8+ years of progressive, relevant experience in a Project Manager role. Experience managing complex, large-scale system implementations from beginning to end, meeting budget, scope, schedule, and benefits targets.
  • Expert leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.
  • Experience effectively managing and partnering with large, 3rd party system implementation partners.
  • Willingness and ability to work at our HQ office in Seattle, WA three days a week.

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Experience implementing HR/HCM solutions.
  • Experience implementing Workforce Management solutions (Kronos or other) for thousands of workers.
  • Other Enterprise software implementations experience.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute work in agile sprints while providing full transparency into the progress to complete the agreed upon project scope in alignment with project level milestones and deliverables.
  • Direct experience leading both Agile and Waterfall projects.
  • Enthusiastic collaborator with a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
