Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for the entire life cycle of the project, from contract execution through construction and closeout. The Project Manager will champion all aspects of the project and will lead high-performing teams in its execution. The bodies of knowledge most important to the Project Manager are scope, schedule, and cost. The Project Manager will meet and collaborate with general contractors, architects, and engineers in facilitating generally accepted construction practices and will maintain positive relationships throughout the process.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Responsible for scope, schedule, cost, and overall project performance. The various plans (project management plan, risk management plan, purchasing plan, production plan, or communication plan) are the responsibility of the Project Manager.
The Project Manager must have the ability to understand generally accepted business practices (finance, accounting, negotiating) and must be able to understand contracts and contract language.
The Project Manager will monitor and control project budgets and project costs. The Project Manager must be able to understand financial reports and will be directly responsible for financial forecasts, every month.
The Project Manager is responsible for understanding, developing, and producing construction schedules that support the overall project schedule. Schedule development and meeting deadlines are crucial to project delivery.
The Project Manager meets regularly with team members across different departments and must be able to communicate effectively. This plan extends to clients, customers, and stakeholders.
The Project Manager is responsible for conflict resolution and change management.
Preferred Education, experience, qualifications and other requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, preferred. Associate's degree or experience in qualifying position acceptable.
7+ years of experience with miscellaneous and/or structural steel
Our business is miscellaneous and architectural metals. Applicant must possess basic knowledge of AISC standards, AWS code, RCSC code, and generally accepted construction codes for steel erection.
Effective communication, influencing, and leadership skills
This applicant must be computer literate and must be able to use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Tekla Structures.
