Superintendent- Roadway & Highway Position Overview The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing construction projects, particularly in roadway and highway construction. This role entails managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining safety standards while delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise all phases of roadway and highway construction projects
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and DOT officials to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations
Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise during construction
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety and quality standards are met
Prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reports for management
Lead and mentor the project team, including foremen and laborers
Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including clients and regulatory agencies
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Superintendent in roadway and highway construction
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and construction practices
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
OSHA certification and other relevant safety training
