We are actively interviewing for a Mechanical/Piping Engineering Department Manager to join our client's growing team in Pittsburgh, PA! This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a talented group of engineers and designers working on cutting-edge projects in a variety of markets, including industrial, oil & gas, manufacturing, and more.

What you'll do:
  • Lead the mechanical department, managing resources, staffing, and project schedules
  • Provide technical oversight on HVAC, mechanical, fire protection, and piping systems
  • Develop mechanical design criteria, perform calculations, and review P&IDs
  • Prepare estimates and scopes of work for proposals and ongoing projects
  • Train and mentor the team, ensuring high-quality deliverables
  • Serve as the Senior Engineer/Project Lead on key projects
  • Ensure project performance aligns with schedule and budget

What we're looking for:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (PE registration required)
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical/piping engineering, preferably in industrial or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (ANSI, ASME, ISO, NFPA)
  • Proficiency with design software and familiarity with Pipe Flo, Caesar II, Trane 3D Plus
  • Ability to travel (up to 10%) and perform field/site visits

Bonus skills:
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or Bluebeam
