We are seeking an experienced Estate and Tax Strategist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning and tax strategy, coupled with hands-on experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns. This role involves working closely with clients to develop and implement tax-efficient strategies, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive estate planning strategies tailored to client needs.
Provide expert tax planning and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and families.
Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, and businesses.
Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis to ensure compliance and optimize tax positions.
Collaborate with clients and other professional advisors to gather necessary information and provide holistic financial solutions.
Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate their impact to clients and team members.
Assist in the preparation and review of gift tax returns and estate tax returns.
Provide support in IRS and state tax audits and inquiries as needed.
Mentor and guide junior staff in tax preparation and planning techniques.
Participate in business development activities to expand the firm's client base and service offerings.
Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning and tax strategy.
Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
Proven experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, and estates.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong client relationship management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Taxation or a related field.
Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
Experience with estate tax return preparation and estate administration.
Knowledge of charitable giving strategies and wealth transfer techniques.
