Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Estate and Tax Strategist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning and tax strategy, coupled with hands-on experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns. This role involves working closely with clients to develop and implement tax-efficient strategies, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive estate planning strategies tailored to client needs.
  • Provide expert tax planning and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, and businesses.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis to ensure compliance and optimize tax positions.
  • Collaborate with clients and other professional advisors to gather necessary information and provide holistic financial solutions.
  • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate their impact to clients and team members.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of gift tax returns and estate tax returns.
  • Provide support in IRS and state tax audits and inquiries as needed.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff in tax preparation and planning techniques.
  • Participate in business development activities to expand the firm's client base and service offerings.

Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning and tax strategy.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
  • Proven experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, and estates.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Taxation or a related field.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
  • Experience with estate tax return preparation and estate administration.
  • Knowledge of charitable giving strategies and wealth transfer techniques.
