Are you someone who loves to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, while building strong relationships with vendors and managing the flow of materials? We're looking for a Purchasing Specialist who will play a key role in maintaining our shop's operations. You'll be the one sourcing and securing everything from raw materials to safety equipment, ensuring everything gets where it needs to go-on time and without a hitch.
Your Day-to-Day:
Support Plant Operations: Partner with the Plant Controller to handle daily tasks like purchasing, processing orders, managing returns, and keeping inventory up to date.
Buy Like a Pro: Take charge of purchasing raw materials, maintenance items, MRO supplies, office essentials, and more. You'll ensure we never run out of what we need to keep things moving!
Track Inventory: Review minimum and maximum levels to optimize stock and keep things lean. You'll be the one who knows what's in stock-and what's on the way.
Master the ERP System: Enter purchase orders, verify shipments, track delivery schedules, and ensure everything aligns with the original order.
Negotiate Smart Deals: Work with vendors to ensure we get the best terms, pricing, and quality. You'll solve problems like raw material shortages and handle complaints with finesse.
Research & Evaluate: Always be on the lookout for the best suppliers and evaluate offers to find the perfect balance between quality and price.
Keep Things Organized: Maintain accurate records of purchased products, delivery details, and invoices. Generate reports that keep everyone up to date on inventory and project status.
What You'll Need:
Microsoft Office Proficiency: You're comfortable with all MS Office programs, and your advanced Excel skills make you a data whiz.
ERP Experience: Experience with systems like SAP, Point Man, or Syteline is preferred, but we're open to teaching the right person.
Analytical Thinker: You'll be working with financial reports and cost analyses, so being able to spot trends and make data-driven decisions is key.
Supply Chain Savvy: You know the ins and outs of sourcing vendors, evaluating offers, and making smart purchasing decisions.
Excellent Communication: You'll be collaborating with internal teams and negotiating with external vendors, so clear, effective communication is a must.
Experience: Previous experience in a plant or manufacturing environment is a plus.
Why You'll Love This Role:
You'll play a key part in keeping operations smooth and efficient, making a real impact on our team's success.
Opportunities to grow your skills and advance in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
A collaborative, supportive team that values your insights and problem-solving abilities.
