Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Pre-Sales Solution Architect to support Department of Defense (DoD) accounts. In this role, you will leverage your deep technical expertise and consultative approach to engage with DoD customers, understand their requirements, and design solutions that meet their unique needs. As a critical member of the pre-sales team, you will work closely with sales teams, clients, and technical delivery teams to craft solutions that address mission-critical challenges, meet compliance standards, and utilize the latest in technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Solution Design & Architecture: Develop and present innovative, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions tailored to DoD requirements, including cloud, software, and infrastructure solutions.
  • Customer Engagement: Collaborate with DoD customers and stakeholders to understand operational needs, requirements, and pain points, and communicate how proposed solutions will meet these needs effectively.
  • Technical Leadership in Pre-Sales: Lead technical discussions with DoD clients, articulating the value proposition of proposed solutions and aligning them with the client's strategic and operational goals.
  • Compliance & Security Assurance: Ensure solutions comply with DoD security standards and regulatory requirements, including FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, and DoD-specific compliance frameworks.
  • Proposal Development: Work closely with the sales and proposal teams to respond to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs by developing solution architectures, technical descriptions, and cost models.
  • Product Demonstrations & Proof of Concept (POC): Design and conduct POCs, product demonstrations, and pilot programs to showcase the capabilities of the proposed solutions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between sales, engineering, and delivery teams, providing technical insights and aligning solution designs with implementation capabilities.
  • Market & Technology Research: Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry best practices, and evolving DoD technology needs to provide relevant solutions and maintain a competitive edge.

Required Qualifications:
  • Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in IT architecture, systems engineering, or a related technical pre-sales role, with at least 3 years focused on the DoD or federal government sectors.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), cybersecurity practices, network infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
  • DoD Compliance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of DoD-specific compliance and security standards (STIG, NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA).
  • Sales Skills: Demonstrated experience supporting technical pre-sales, including solution design, RFP response, and customer presentations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical information for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain it.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, or Security+.
  • Experience with Emerging Technologies: Familiarity with advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in DoD contexts.
  • Technical Leadership: Experience in leading technical teams or mentoring junior solution architects in a pre-sales or solutions development environment.
  • Project Management Experience: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, project planning, and technical program management.
