Hays have exclusively partnered with a globally renowned institution in the Washington DC area who are looking to hire a Senior Project Manager to work on an important multi-year phased capital improvement program. My client is interested in engaging with construction professionals with 8+ years GC or CM side who are interested in working on projects including new construction, renovation, and tenant fit-out, and capital renewal projects.
Your new role:
As an in-house Senior Project Manager, you will play an integral support role on the design and construction of capital improvement projects on site. This will include developing the design alongside the internal architects, seeing the project through preconstruction, and estimating, soliciting the general contractors as well as overseeing contracts, scope of work and schedules. You will also contribute to the entire financial management of your projects, including developing and delivering on the budget you put together with your senior and wider real estate team.
All projects you complete will be handed over to an internal real estate and facilities team, so you need to be able foster deep, close working relations with the entire internal team associated with the project. An excellent career path is available here into a senior project manager position and the potential for future leadership roles in this growing division.
What you'll need to succeed:
A necessity to be successful in this role is to have at least 8+ years of experience in Commercial Construction either on the general contracting side or working directly for a consultancy firm and/or end user/client. You will demonstrate strong communication, problem solving and team building skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure is required.
The projects you will be working on could be under $1M but scale up to in excess of $20M, you will be able to discuss through the projects/programs you have managed from concept through completion. You have experienced in fast paced construction projects and managing multiple projects at any given time, as well as being apart of larger projects too. Your attention to detail will see you managing quality and risk on this project to ensure a high level of satisfaction for your client. A bachelors degree is required, my client would like to see at least a bachelors in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or other design related discipline preferred.
